The unintended expatriate blogger behind Cavre Lund Imor

Hello, I am Sofia
Project manager. Parent. Expat living in Madrid, Spain.
A few years ago, I moved here with my family. What began as a short-term assignment gradually opened a new chapter of life abroad.
How It Started
Moving to Spain wasn't in the plan for the long term. Like many expat moves, it began as a job opportunity and quickly grew into something far larger.
The initial months were demanding — unfamiliar systems, new routines, fresh expectations. Everyday tasks felt more complicated than they ought to be.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, uncertainty, and a lot of learning on the job. Yet gradually, routines settled in. We found places that suited us, connected with other families, and began shaping something that felt stable.
Why I Built Cavre Lund Imor
Most online information was either corporate-level relocation guidance or superficial tourism material. What was missing was an honest, everyday family viewpoint.
This site exists to bridge that gap — practical guidance grounded in real life in Spain.
What This Site Does (And Does Not)
This site IS:
- Hands-on experience from living in Spain
- Centered on family life and daily realities
- Updated when there is a real change
This site IS NOT:
- A tourism authority resource
- Sponsored review platform
- Not just another travel blog
What Lies Ahead
Our time in Spain continues, and the learning journey goes on. As long as the information remains useful, I’ll keep documenting what we discover.
If you have questions about family life in Madrid or anywhere in Spain, please don't hesitate to contact me.
Best regards,
